Bulk carriers collide on Yangtze River
2020 Bulker’s Bulk Shenzhen and RB British Marine-owned RB Lisa were involved in a collision earlier this morning.
The Norwegian-owned 208,000-dwt bulk carrier Bulk Shenzhen has collided with the RB British Marine-owned 82,000-dwt RB Lisa on the Yangtse River in China. The accident happened earlier this morning local time while the Bulk Shenzhen was navigating under pilot.
The Liberian-flagged Bulk Shenzhen is partly laden with 103,655 mt of iron ore and was bound for the port of Jinangyin. 2020 Bulkers say the vessel is now safely anchored and awaiting inspection and incident formalities.
Bulk Shenzhen suffered some damage to her topsides but can proceed to her discharge port under her own power. No loss of life, injuries, or pollution were reported. There is currently no information on damage to the RB Lisa.
