Speedbåde fra Irans revolutionærgarde har jagtet et amerikansk flådefartøj i De Persiske Golf. Det rapporterede iransk stats-TV torsdag, hvor de ligeledes viser en video, der angiveligt viser mødet med amerikanerne til søs.

De to lande har længe været på kollissionskurs på grund af Irans eskalerende atomprogram, der blev genoplivet efter den tidligere amerikanske præsident Donald Trump rev en nedrustningsaftale itu.

Optagelserne, der ifølge iransk stats-TV blevet et filmet fra en af landets​ militære speedbåde, viser et fartøj med et amerikanske flag og flere personer om bord, mens speedbåden ser ud til at jagte det.

Samtidig kan man høre en stemme på farsi, der siger: “Bliv ved med at jage dem.”

Det er fra iransk side ikke oplyst hvornår mødet skulle have fundet sted, mens en talsmand for den amerikanske flåde oplyser, at han ikke er klar over “nogen form for usikker interaktion med Iran” i de seneste dage.
