Cruise Ship Carrying Passengers Runs Aground
A new expedition ship that was just introduced by Hurtigruten into service in 2020 was reported to have ran aground in Norway on January 12.
The Fridtjof Nansen was carrying 233 passengers and 165 crew members at the time, yet no injuries were reported as the damages were limited to the vessel.
The vessel began to take on water as one watertight compartment was damaged, however the ship was able to continue to sail to Trollebø in Måløy, Norway after the incident.
Winds upwards to 70 knots were reported in the area.
