7 Hunters Rescued by Coast Guard in Alaska
Ice Traps 7 Hunters in Remote Alaskan Area
In an area where hunters are known to frequent for seals, on their journey traveling home temperatures dropped immensely trapping the individuals in their cabin due to ice.
When the U.S. Coast Guard was notified on November 4 that the individuals were located near Emmonak, Alaska they determined they had already been iced in since October 28 when they stopped for the night and the river iced over limiting them from leaving the area.
The Coast Guard helicopter team was able to supply the group of individuals with food, water and other adequate items before the rescue ensued later that evening.
The rescued individuals were taken to Nome where no injuries were reported.
