Reports of more casualties in the wake of Cyclone Tauktae
Indian Coast Guard searching for more missing mariners.
Indian authorities are searching for another six seafarers from two vessels after cyclone Tauktae hit the country’s west coast.
One mariner fell overboard from the Shreyas Shipping & Logistics 1,581-teu SSl Ganga in rough seas off Mangalore. Three other crew members were injured while carrying out a deck inspection when high waves hit the vessel on Sunday.
And the Hindu Daily said a tug called the Alliance capsized off the coast of Mangalore on Saturday with one crew member dead, three rescued and five missing. The Alliance was under contract with Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals for supporting single point moorings for VLCCs.
