CSSC’s newbuilding orders surged by 290% in first half of year
China State Shipbuilding Company hits annual target in just six months.
The China State Shipbuilding Company (CSSC) smashed its annual newbuilding order target in the first six months of 2021.
The CSSC received orders for 232 vessels in the the first half of the year, amounting to a total of 18.39 dwt — more than its total target tonnage for the whole year.
CSSC delivered 102 vessels, totalling 9.172 dwt in H1, which represents 52.8% and 57.3% of the group’s annual targets, repspectively.
The group secured orders for several batches of containerships in the first half, as well as bulk carriers, oil tankers and gas carriers .
