Artemis Technologies says it is one step closer to completing its Artemis eFoilerTM electrical propulsion foiling-workboat and has plans to launch a demonstrator in 2021.
Announced by COO, Prof. Mark Gillian during a presentation to the Workboat Association’s Technical Workgroup yesterday, the new vessel will be a multipurpose 11m workboat platform, provided by Tuco Marine Group. It will have a top speed of 30kts, a cruising speed of 25kts and a range of 60NM.
Prof. Gillian said: ‘The Artemis eFoilerTM is a truly transformative innovation that will help commercial operators across the world dramatically reduce their carbon emissions. The electric propulsion system provides significant range at high-speed, whilst also reducing operational costs through substantial fuel savings.’
The Artemis eFoilerTM electric propulsion system a key component of zero-emission, high-speed vessels being developed in partnership with the Belfast Maritime Consortium’s £60m UKRI Strength in Places Fund.
