Congestion a Now Growing Concern in China
Shanghai Announcing Shipping Congestion Concerns
As Covid-19 continues to rise globally, China is now beginning to experience some shipping congestion amid closures and lockdowns the country currently has in place in curb the latest wave of Omicron outbreaks.
Ningbo Port in China has partially suspended trucking services, Shenzhen has reported an outbreak that has caused for testing of residents and workers resulting in delays, and Tianjin has partially closed for testing of its employees.
Taking note of the closure and delays, companies have been rerouting shipments to Shanghai which has caused them to be backlogged with container ships on delay an estimated week.
