Shipping Transit Times Double from China to US
Backlog Doubles Amid Shipping Concerns from China to US
A total of 62 containerships were last reported anchored outside San Pedro Bay on the US west coast on October 16 announcing how stressed the ports at Long Beach and Los Angeles are in terms of processing these vessels.
Now, digital freight forwarder Shifl has reported that in October, it is now taking double the amount of time in transit from China to the US west coast ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
The CEO of Shifl stated, “Usually, a ship from Chinese base ports like Shanghai, Ningbo will take between 16-18 days to arrive and discharge cargo at US West Coast ports. The increase in transit to 36 days, makes it extremely painful for businesses dependent on supply chains,”
