New UK Nuclear Submarine Contract Awarded to BAE

A new $117 million contract was awarded to BAE Systems and RollsRoyce Holdings to begin working on the next generation of nuclear submarines.

For over 60 years RollsRoyce Holdings has been the only company to generate the engines for all nuclear subs, the entire list of Britains fleet and BAE has been known to build hunterkiller submarines.

It is expected that over the next three years both companies will submit design work for the project which is expected to generate approximately 350 jobs.
