37 Vessels Carrying Coal Depart Indonesia Amid Ban

Conditions Allow 37 Vessels to Depart with Coal from Indonesia
On January 1 a ban on coal export was established by Indonesia due to a local supply crisis on the rise however, they’ve just allowed a slight ease of the restrictions with conditions on those who are allowed to depart.
37 vessels will be loaded and allowed to depart but they must sell a portion of their coal for the generation of local power.
Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan even released a statement saying, “I request that this is supervised closely so this also becomes a moment for us to improve domestic governance.”
