Bangladesh Shipyard Blast Results in One Casualty
On September 14, approximately 10am local time, some form of gas cylinder explosion occurred at the Mother Steel Shipyard in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
It was reported that the workers were unloading cylinders at the time of the blast which resulted in one worker being severely injured with burns.
The victim, a 40 year old worker was not transported for another 2 hours after the incident and when he arrived at the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMHC), he was already deceased.
There is a current continued investigation into this incident as many shipbreaking yards In Bangladesh have practiced questionable working conditions.
