BGN International moves into shipowning with VLGC order
Dubai trading company due to take delivery of seven VLGC newbuildings
Trading company BGN International has ordered two dual-fuel VLGC newbuildings from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
Sources told TradeWinds that the Dubai-based company is behind the pair of 86,000-cbm gas tankers that Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) disclosed on 1 June.
The company is thought to be paying $81m each for the vessels and expects to take delivery in 2023. Neither HHI or BGN has commented on the reported deal.
BGN now has seven newbuildings on the books in South Korean shipyards, including five chartered-in newbuildings.
