Successful biofuel trial for ONE
Ocean Network Express’ (ONE) vessel MOL Experience has completed a second trial of sustainable marine biofuel.
ONE’s MOL Experience has trialled a bio fuel mix with a much lower proportion of petroleum fuel in the mix than its initial trial.
The mixing ratio of the latest trial was three times higher in biofuel content than when she last bunkered on 7th March at the Port of Rotterdam. The ship consumed the fuel within 24 days on ONE’s AL5 service.
ONE says the use of biofuels will help the company meet its sustainability targets and the goal of reducing emissions by 50 % by 2050.
