German freight giant pauses deliveries to Brexit Britain
DB Schenker has become the latest European company to suspend deliveries to the UK.

Top German logistics company, DB Schenker, has announced that it has temporarily halted deliveries to Britain and is not accepting any further UK-bound consignments, reports the BBC. DB Schenker is owned by German rail operator, Deutsche Bahn, and blames “enormous bureaucratic regulations” for the hiatus.
In a statement, DB Schenker said: “DB Schenker expects a further increase of shipments in January. The logistics service staff will only be able to process these swiftly if there is a considerable rise in the rate of shipments with complete papers,” and urges customers to familiarise themselves with the new rules. The company gave no date for a resumption of its services.
Firms on the other side of the channel have also experienced problems and high-street names Ocado, Marks & Spencer and Fortnum and Mason have reported difficulties getting their products through customs and onto shelves on the Continent.
