New Maersk Facility Opens in Canada
Canada Opens New Maersk Facility to Aid in Cargo Delivery
On September 1st services began at the new British Columbia Maersk transload facility in Canada to help offset cargo delivery and delay issues in regards to North American shipping supplies.
The new Pacific Transload Express facility is a 117,000 square foot, 103 door transloading facility that will specifically engage with fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), mostly retail and lifestyle goods as the cargo is impacted by fluctuations with consumer demands which will account for 80-90% of volume.
Canada Pacific and Maersk Canada believe this transload solution will help to reduce strain in supply chains, reduce cargo transit time and lower inventory storage costs.
Canada Pacific’s President and CEO Keith Creel stated, “We are very proud to open this first-of-its-kind transload facility that creates tremendous opportunity for sustainable growth.”
