Container Ship Reports Covid-19 Outbreak in Canada
Offshore Anchored Container Ship Due to Covid-19 Outbreak
The Zim Yokohama, a container ship sailing under the Israel flag has reported an outbreak of Covid-19 amongst its crew members.
When the positive cases were announced approximately 2 weeks ago, the ship and its crew members were anchored on the outskirts of Chebucto Head in Nova Scotia. At this time, the ship is not allowed to enter the port.
Needing to allow time between positive results and negative results, the Public Health Agency of Canada will allow the vessel to offload its cargo when everyone is safe.
The ship is currently under the direction of Transport Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
