Seacor Power: three bodies recovered
The USCG says it is continuing its search for the crew of the capsized lift boat, Seacor Power — three bodies have been recovered
The United States Coast Guard has reported that three bodies have been recovered in the search for the missing 12 crewmembers of the liftboat, Seacor Power, which capsized off the coast of Louisiana on 13th April.
The search continues, but has been hampered by bad weather in the Gulf of Mexico. A coast guard helicopter spotted one body on 15th April and local media said the body was found approximately 30 miles from the capsized vessel.
Commercial divers from Donjon Marine located two additional bodies yesterday. As of Friday evening, four bodies have been recovered, along with six survivors.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and loved ones of everyone involved in this tragic incident,” said Capt. Will Watson, commander of Coast Guard Sector New Orleans. “We are using every asset available to us to continue our search efforts.”
