Carnival Backs out of Covid-19 Cruise Terminal Testing
Carnival Decides to Cancel Terminal Testing Before Boarding
In a letter that was sent to guests by Carnival Cruise Lines President, Christine Duffy, it was advised that Carnival has decided to back out of its plans to administer Covid-19 tests at terminals before departure.
The CDC had made a previous announcement advising passengers and cruise lines that they would need to provide negative Covid-19 test results at least two days prior to the ships sailing. In response to that, Carnival Cruise Lines was preparing to set up testing sites at its terminals to help along the process and made previous announcements to do so, however plans have now changed.
Duffy advised in the letter, “While we had previously raised the possibility of more on-site testing at our terminals, the logistics of making this service widely available to a large number of guests does not make this a viable option,”
