A Double Increase for LNG Carrier Rates
Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and tri-fuel diesel-electric (TFDE) transit rates are on the rise with just about doubling in less than one months time indicating a high demand.
Due to the recent power crises as of late in Asia and Europe, rates for vessels to transit LNG has doubled.
A report released by Spark Commodities listed a daily charter rate for TFDE vessel to transit LNG to a Pacific based port to have increased higher than reports in January 2021 listing now at $202,500 a day.
