The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) has awarded its coveted Innovation Medal to Antoine Aiello for his work in establishing the Stella Mare Platform in Corsica.

Created in 2011 under the aegis of the University of Corsica, the Stella Mare Platform specialises in marine and coastal ecological engineering. It brings together researchers and maritime professionals for the sustainable management of fisheries resources. Its research programmes innovate in the field of fishing and aquaculture.

CNRS says the award has been given in recognition of the scientific excellence of the research carried out at Stella Mare and for the technological advances and societal benefits it has produced.

The centre said: “The award of the CNRS innovation medal confirms the relevance of the University of Corsica’s scientific policy and distinguishes the quality of the work of an entire team.”
