Costco Joins Other Retailers and Charters Ships
Costco Charters Ships for its Goods
The global supply chain delays and disruption as of late has caused various big named retailers to charter their own ships in efforts to get their brands in their stores. Retailers like Walmart, Home Depot and IKEA just to name a few have already began chartering ships and now Costco, the American Wholesale Retailer has joined.
In the coming year Costco plans to transit an expected 20% of their imports from Asia. In preparation and to start, Costco has already rented thousands of containers and chartered three ships.
Data shows that ocean shipments from China-US are taking approximately 73 days to complete.
