Ever Forward Cargo Unloaded After Refloat Attempt Fails
Containers Being Unloaded From Ever Forward
After two failed attempts to refloat Ever Forward—a Taiwan-based cargo ship that got stuck in the Chesapeake Bay, in Maryland, United States, on March 13th—salvors have now begun removing containers from the ship in order to attempt to refloat it again. A total of 54 containers have been removed from the vessel since April 11 in efforts to lighten the load.
500 containers in total are to be unloaded from the ship, which is carrying 5,000 TEU, before the next refloat attempt will occur.
