70 Containers Spill into Hong Kong Waters as Ship Sinks
70 Containers at Sea Amid Sunken Ship
On November 8 a Chinese-flagged coastal cargo ship Suifuhang 628 was reportedly taking in water in the engine room which prompted for a rescue to ensue.
On voyage from Hong Kong to Foshan Guangdong as the 248 meter long vessel was in the waters of Shenzhen, China it began to sink resulting in the loss of 70 containers in the process.
7 crew-members were rescued with no injuries reported.
An investigation and continued efforts of warning are occurring by officials to notify other vessels in proximity of the floating containers while also attempting ongoing container recovery.
