China Holds World Record for Most Offshore Wind Installed
China Leads in Offshore Wind Installations
Informed by CCTV using data provided by the National Energy Administration, it was announced that China is in the lead globally as they now operate the most offshore wind turbines since they’ve added 16.9 gigawatts of energy in 2021. They now have 306 gigawatts of solar and 328 gigawatts of wind installed.
Continuing to grow, 2021 is their second year in a row of adding 100 gigawatts after adding 47.57 gigawatts of wind installations and 52.97 gigawatts of solar, China’s next goal is that by 2020 they’re at 1,200.
