China Leads for Most Ships on Order in 2021
Over 1,500 Ships Were Ordered Globally in 2021
Numbers were recently released by British Clarkson Research on data based on the global shipbuilding and maritime market.
In 2021 a total of 1,846 new ships were globally ordered throughout the industry with shipbuilding companies in China receiving the most ordered vessels of 965 and South Korea coming in second with 403 orders.
China’s newbuild orders and container ship production orders account for almost half of the market globally.
