China Port Shuts Down Operations Amid Approaching Typhoon
Looming Typhoon in China Stops Port Flow
Dealing with its second typhoon within 3 days, Hong Kong has been taking a beating as of late which has now began to affect port operations around the Pearl River Delta in China.
From ships being able to berth, to containers being able to be off-loaded and handled, once the yellow alert was issued from weather authorities, at midnight October 12 port operations at Yantian International Container Terminal (YICT) in Shenzen, China and Hong Kong were expected to halt.
Already dealing with port delays worldwide due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the shutdown of ports in Yantian and Ningbo-Zhoushan will add to the continued congestion.
