E-Payments Become Mandatory for Shippers in Bangladesh
Chittagong Customs House Only to Accept E-Payments for Import and Export Trade Services
Expecting to commence on January 1 2022, the Chittagong Customs House (CHC) will no longer except manual payments in regards to any duty-tax, fees or any charges that are connected with the import and export trade.
Mandatory e-payments will be expected for any payments linked with the CHC.
The CHC advised in a statement, “The importers and exporters themselves will be responsible for the delay in goods delivery for failing to make e-payment.”
Bangladesh has a goal to provide faster services and by digitizing payments and delivery methods they believe this aim is to help move the country to a more paperless system.
