Maersk Sells MCI to China’s CIMC for $987.3m

Danish-based Maersk has announced that it has sold Maersk Container Industry (MCI), its reefer manufacturer for $987.3m to, China’s China International Marine Containers Ltd. (CIMC).

The new owner CIMC, is planning to continue into its interest of product development and sales increase as it takes complete control of MCI’s assets in China as well as facilities located and housed in Denmark.

Maersk stated, “This finalizes Maersk’s strategic review of MCI announced at its Capital Markets Day in May 2021.”
