New Stena Line E-Flexer floats out in China
E-Flexer vessel represents significant step in Scandinavian line’s push to green and modernise fleet.
The latest addition to Stena Line’s fleet has floated out in Weihai, China and will enter service in 2022.
The company is keeping the name and the route of the new vessel under wraps for the moment, but it is known that the company’s E-Flexer ferries are among the most modern and efficient RoPax vessels in the world.
This latest E-Flexer was built in collaboration with sister company Stena RoRo at the CMI Jinling Weihai Shipyard and features range of energy saving systems and is conversion-ready to methanol or LNG.
”The E-Flexer vessels represent an important part of our sustainable growth journey for the future and we look forward to welcoming two more vessels to our fleet next year.
“The first three vessels are making waves with our appreciative customers across the Irish Sea and both their flexibility and efficiency has already made them great assets for the company during the pandemic and following Brexit” says Niclas Mårtensson, Managing Director of Stena Line.
