Four Crewmembers Rescued from a Tug in Texas
On April 17th, the United States Coast Guard responded to a call from a tugboat that had begun taking on water just outside of Freeport, Texas, United States, in the Intracoastal Waterway.
The Coast Guard, combined with assistance from a nearby vessel, safely rescued the four crewmembers aboard the tug and supplied it with a dewatering pump. The 52-foot tug Captain Mark, is to be towed to Texas’ Dickinson Bayou.
Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Trish Elliston stated, “The crew of the Captain Mark did exactly as we recommend in an emergency: they donned life jackets and immediately called for help.”
