Video: Cargo vessel T-boned by sister ship
Volga Shipping cargo ship collides with vessel from the same company.
The general cargo vessel, Rusich-6, has been damaged by one of her sister ships in the Russian port of Taganrog. The freak accident happened on the 7th July while the other vessel was being attended by two tugs.
Footage of the moment when Volga Shipping’s 5,400-dwt SV Knyaz Vladimir collided bow-first with the portside of the 5,500-dwt Rusich-6 was released online by Marine Pilot. There are no reports of any casualties.
Officials from the Rostov Transport Investigation Department (MIIDT) have interviewed the masters of both vessels, as well as Volga Shipping.
MIIDT said that a “procedural decision” would be taken after their investigation is concluded.
