Port of New York and New Jersey Announce Minor Congestion

Labor Shortage Causing Congestion at Port of New York and New Jersey
The Port of New York and New Jersey Authority have announced a slight congestion that is starting to build due to Covid-19 cases rising and crew either calling out due to infections or quarantine.
11 containerships were waiting to call at two terminals on January 7 and since January 1, two vessels have been waiting to berth.
The Port of New York and New Jersey Authority Director Sam Ruda stated, “We have seen a spike in the number of labour going out into quarantine.”
