Maersk Boxship Inspected in Mexico
A containership that lost nearly 100 containers on March 21st in the North Pacific Ocean due to strong waves is currently being inspected for damage at Mexico’s port of Lazaro Cardenas. The 4,578 TEU vessel known as Dryos, arrived at the port on April 3rd and assessment of the damage began April 7th.
It is expected to take up to two weeks before the ship, operated by Danish shipping company Maersk, is able to continue on its journey.
Maersk stated, “We will have more specific details on the extent of damaged containers at the end of this week.”
