Container Volume Record for Port of Savannah

Georgia’s Port of Savannah in the US has recorded record breaking numbers in its container handling for 2021.

Compared to the previous year of 2020, Port of Savannah’s container traffic increased by a 20% rise. Container handling for 2021 was a record breaking 5.6 million TEU.Executive director, Griff Lynch said, “Our expanded rail and yard capacity, along with new operational practices, allowed GPA to overcome serious headwinds in the international supply chain.”
