Containership Fire Caused by Explosion
At 8:45am on September 4 reports came in that the Morning Vinafco, a 6,250 tons cargo ship which was docked at Ben Nghe port, Ho Chin Minh, in Vietnam had an explosion and fire aboard the vessel.
Maintenance crews were welding near a container cellar when the fire was to have occurred.
Police and fire crews were called to the area after efforts were made with the Khanh Hoi port border gate station and the fire was contained within a matter of 30 minutes.
There are no reports of injuries.
