Disembarked Cruise Ship Announced Covid-19 Cases

On November 28 a 3,200 passenger full Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship the Breakaway, departed New Orleans and traveled to ports in Belize and Mexico before its scheduled return on December 5 however on December 4 the ship was to have reported finding ten Covid-19 cases aboard although all passengers and crew were fully vaccinated.

Once the ship calls at port on Sunday all passenger and crew will be tested for Covid-19 again and anyone who test positive will adhere to the safety guidelines in place.

Norwegian Cruise Line stated, “We take this matter extremely seriously and will continue to work closely with the CDC, the office of Governor John Bel Edwards, the Louisiana Department of Health as well as the city and port of New Orleans.”
