Offentliggjort

Covid-19 has affected seafarers globally and by reports in the Nordics, there have been many cases where the results of infection were death.

An effort is now being made to aid seafarers in regards to mental health in these times of the pandemic.

Nordic P&I Group (maritime protection and indemnity) has joined with Mental Health Support Solutions (MHSS) to give access in regards to psychological help and mental health aid for seafarers and their relatives who are covered by P&I insurance through their employer, and having a hard time coping.

The ports in the Nordic area include Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Mental health and support is provided 24 hours by MHSS and seafarers can contact them for the services when entering the Nordic ports.

Director of Nordic P&I Group said, “If one crew member has coronavirus, they and all their colleagues can be quarantined, causing stress for everyone involved,” he said. “That’s why it’s so important to have a company like MHSS providing professional psychological support for people at sea.”
