Crew of Mega Container Ship Falls Ill During Voyage
An emergency call was made to Ensenada, Mexico on November 29 to a nearby port from the Hapag-Lloyd mega container ship Rome Express while she was on voyage along the coast of the California peninsula.
The vessel was leaving from the USA heading to Korea.
On December 1 the vessel arrived in Ensenada where 6 crew members were to have been found needing immediate hospitalization and listed in serious condition from an undisclosed sickness.
Hapag-Lloyd released a statement, “The vessel will remain at port until the alternate crew are tested and cleared for boarding. Once they are on board, MV Rome Express will resume her voyage to Pusan.”
