XOCEAN an Irish Startup has Crewless Vessels to Map the Ocean

As an alternative to the current large research vessels that are mapping the seas resulting in significant financial costs, XOCEAN, an Irish start up is ready to provide their services.

Weighing half the weight of an average car, but around the same size as one, XOCEAN’s crewless and unmanned vessels (USV) have sensors that collect data from the ocean and are able to transfer the information via satellite to experts located on shore.

XOCEAN says their units emit 1,000 times less carbon than the current traditional vessels being used while lowering the costs and emissions currently incurred while surveying the ocean.
