Report: Biden might relax cruise ban by May
President Joe Biden is reportedly considering a relaxation of restrictions that involve travel across the Mexican and Canadian borders and for inbound travel from the United Kingdom, Europe, and Brazil.

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is reportedly considering a relaxation of cruise travel restrictions by May, in time for the summer season. The news comes from a variety of reports from outlets like Cruise Industry News and CNBC.com.
According to anonymous sources that spoke with CNBC Washington DC on-air correspondent Kayla Tausche, the president has consulted his COVID-19 task force looking for answers to reopen the domestic tourism sector eventually.
The variants of the COVID-19 disease are also at the center of the debate, notes sources. However, there is yet to be an official policy memorandum or a placement in the Federal Register describing such changes.
“There is going to be a sea change in mid-May when vaccines are more widely available to everyone,” says one of the sources in the CNBC report.
Cruise Industry News also noted that if the change proves to be true, the United States government will follow the same tracks as the UK government. Her Majesty’s government intends to alleviate restrictions on domestic cruising by May, as well.
