Norwegian Cruise Line Posts Massive Loss
Massive Loss Announced by Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, as a result of the pandemic, reported a larger quarterly loss on Aug 6.
Due to an unprecedented and lengthy suspension by US health officials, cruise operators were forced to raise billions of dollars to stay afloat. Some companies even pledged their ships and private islands as collateral to do so.
Since lengthy talks with CDC, cruise lines have again started sailing from U.S. ports with mostly vaccinated passengers and crew.
The second quarter net loss widened to $717.8 million, from $715.2 million loss in the prior year.
