Viking River announces cruises on the Mississippi
Viking announces new sailings on the Mississippi River in the upcoming seasons.
The Mississippi River is now the backdrop of a new line of sailings put on by Viking Cruises. Viking announced that the first custom vessel, the Viking Mississippi, will debut in the late summer of 2022. The company also added that the Mississippi River sailings would be voyages between New Orleans and St. Paul. According to the company, sailings have already been sold out through 2023.
This strong demand has led Viking to open 2024 sailing dates sooner than originally expected, says the company.
“We are pleased with the continued response and support we have received from loyal guests and valued partners ahead of our new Mississippi River sailings,” said Torstein Hagen, the chairman of Viking, in a press statement. “As we begin to restart ocean operations this spring, we also look forward to a new chapter in 2022 when we begin sailing our first US river voyages.”
