Royal Caribbean cancels all cruises to Israel
Cruise operator Royal Caribbean has cancelled a new line that had been scheduled to run between Israel, Cyprus and Greece because of regional security concerns.
Royal Caribbean’s new ship Odyssey of the Sea’s route has been cancelled because of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, reports Reuters.
The sailings out of Haifa would have exploited a new travel corridor being set up between the three countries, but the company said in statement on Saturday that “due to the unrest in Israel and region, Odyssey has not been able to complete the preparations required.”
The ship will spend its inaugural season in Florida, the statement said, adding that it “remains hopeful to return to this popular destination [Israel] with its ships in the future”.
