UK to permit domestic cruises from 17th May

Britain has become the latest nation to announce that it will soon allow the resumption of cruises. Following a parliamentary committee meeting on 8^th March, Minister for Aviation and Maritime, Robert Courts confirmed in a Tweet that the cruise industry would be included in plans to re-open domestic tourism and indoor hospitality.

The minister said the earliest domestic cruises would be allowed would be from 17^th May, but he did not commit to when international travel would be allowed.

It is expected that cruises will commence first between English ports and Mr Courts said that the government was working with the home nations, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, to support a nationwide resumption of cruising and tourism.
