OSM Maritime starts new chemical tanker venture
Norwegian ship manager’s new business in Copenhagen aims to enlarge fleet to 30 vessels as the company targets high-end units.
OSM Maritime of Norway have launched a new technical ship-management business in neighbouring Denmark with a view to expanding its fleet of high-end tankers.
The company said OSM Chemical Tanker Management has been established in Copenhagen with the goal of acquiring 30 new vessels over the next three years. The company’s current ships have a capacity of 38,000dwt, including Navig8’s Ammolite, but OSM says it is targeting “all sizes”.
OSM has seven tankers already and said an important new client is Copenhagen-based Navig8 Chemical Tankers. Tommy Olofsen, OSM’s Chief Commercial Officer and President, said: ” This will be a pure chemical IMO 2/IMO 3 tanker platform. We want to maintain focus on core competencies in high-end chemical tankers”.
