Volansi Completes First Autonomous Mission

Offentliggjort Sidst opdateret

For the first time, on July 18 an autonomous Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) maritime freight transfer between two moving US government vessels off the coast of Key West, Florida was performed by Volansi, the industry leader in autonomous Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) point-to-point drone delivery services.

With the VOLY 10 Series, the vehicles’ capabilities include the ability to lift up to 10 pounds of cargo for over 42 miles. The USMC operated the expeditionary transport which traveled 15 nautical miles to the USCG Cutter William Trump. The VOLY 20 series, which has a 350-mile range and an average cruise speed of 75 miles per hour, was able to carry 20 pounds of cargo for its flight. The VOLY 20 did a mile-long flight in wind speeds of up to 20 mph before making a successful return to the USCG Panga.

Volansi intends to remove the limits imposed by remote areas and harsh conditions with its UAS VTOL fleet. Their fleet is able to overcome these difficulties due to runway independence, an operational footprint that is less than average, and the capacity to transport cargo and sensors on some models simultaneously.
