$5.2 Million Grant for Port of Oakland Upgrades
Electrical Power Upgrades for Port of Oakland in the Works
MARAD the Maritime Administration a federal government organization of the US has awarded a grant funds of $5.2 million to the Port of Oakland in California.
As the Port of Oakland continues their clean air initiatives and goals of zero emissions, these funds will be used for electrical power upgrades with the help of construction of a fuel cell site, solar panel installation, battery storage, an electrical substation replacement and other upgrades.
Port of Oakland executive director stated, “This grant from the Maritime Administration is an important moment in helping us take another step toward our goal of zero emissions from maritime operations.”
