MACN and CSC Collaborate to Thwart Maritime Industry Corruption

The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network that battles corruption in the maritime industry adds the Cyprus Shipping Chamber to it’s network.

November 16th 2020 paved the way for a collaboration between the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) and the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) to jointly work towards thwarting corruption in the maritime industry, according to Hellenic Shipping News.

Setup in 2011 with the aim of battling corruption in the maritime industry, MACN has grown rapidly over the years, with a veritable base of 130 members around the world, representing the who’s who of the industry.

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber – with the entire shipping industry of Cyprus in tow, has unequivocally expressed its pleasure at joining forces with the MACN. By becoming an MACN Partner, CSC will work together to ensure that best industry practices are followed.

Further, this partnership is also expected to facilitate cooperation and coordination between the two entities along multiple fronts including the exchange of culture, facilitation of payments, while impeding prevalent malpractices such as bribery.
