An investment of £3 million will see The Port of Grangemouth’s current rail siding extended from 200 metres to 775 metres, enabling Grangemouth to handle the longest freight trains on the UK network. Derek Knox, Senior Port Manager, said in a press release:

– Over the past five years, we have invested over £30 million in the Port of Grangemouth to offer our customers first class service and connectivity for their businesses…

Projected to be operational next year, the port’s new freight terminal will provide intermodal options that will be especially useful to the region’s food, drink, and perishables sectors.
